MobileMoney Fintech LTD, a subsidiary of MTN Ghana is to support 600 entrepreneurs nationwide with practical knowledge and solutions to strengthen their businesses.

According to the Senior. Manager of Business Development at MobileMoney Fintech LTD, Mr. Prince Owusu Nyarko, the company recognizes that strong partnerships are essential to delivering value to Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

“Together with Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) and Kola Market, we are combining financial expertise, digital commerce support and MoMo’s technology solutions to help retailers build stronger and more resilient businesses”, he explained.

At the Second Phase of the MobileMoney Small and Medium Scale Enterprise (MSME) Capacity Building held in Takoradi, Mr Owusu Nyarko stressed that retailers were central to local economic activity.

The programme focuses on financial literacy, basic business management, trade-relevant skills, digital tools, access to credit, insurance and other financial products.

“You connect products to consumers, create jobs, support households and keep money circulating within communities”, Mr Owusu Nyarko added.

“At MobileMoney Fintech LTD, we believe technology must help people and businesses solve real problems. MoMo has grown beyond payments into a business enabler; helping SMEs receive payments, monitor transactions, improve accountability, build financial records and prepare for future growth. For a retailer, this means more than going cashless. It means better visibility over daily sales, stronger records, faster service and a clearer path to accessing finance and other support services”.

The Senior Manager of Business Development at MobileMoney Fintech LTD emphasized on the company’s focus on retailers. “You are central to the local economy. You connect producers to consumers, provide everyday convenience, create employment, support households and keep money circulating within communities”, he said.

Mr Owusu Nyarko believed the second phase in Takoradi was a clear statement of MoMo’s commitment to SME growth through technology, practical education and strong partnerships.

The Talent Manager for Mobile Money Fintech Limited, Eunice Annor, observed that businesses often invest heavily in marketing to attract new customers while overlooking customer loyalty, the true driver of sustainable growth.

She stressed that genuine loyalty could not be purchased through discounts or slogans.  It must be earned by understanding customers beyond demographics, recognizing their pain points and evolving needs so that companies solve real problems rather than merely selling products, she maintained.
