Chief Home Officer Trashes claims that MTN Home Internet is for the Rich

The Chief Home Officer of MTN Ghana, Richard Acheampong has stated emphatically that the company is committed to delivering home internet services and thus assured of customer satisfaction.

“Fiber, unlike the mobile phone internet is very useful because multiple users benefit from its internet services, as everyone can access the home internet at the same time. It is convenient and reliable”.

The Chief Home Officer of MTN Ghana,  stated this when he took his turn at the MTN Bright Conversation series in Accra.

He indicated that “COVID thought us that we could do a lot of things remotely” adding, the home was the center of many things, including schooling, entertainment, work, business, hence, MTN Ghana’s responsibility to provide a strong digital infrastructure to enhance the internet services and ensuring a consistent experience.

Richard Acheampong refuted the myth that the home internet is for the privileged households and said the common people rather benefit from the facility,  as they see the real value, pointing out that MTN is building the bridge between the rich and the commoner.

“MTN strategy; Ambition 2030 hinges on three pillars, including the connectivity business, Fintech Business and Digital Infrastructure. Within the connectivity business, we have three streams, which are; consumer focusing data, enable enterprises and the home”, he explained.

The Chief Home Officer of MTN Ghana stated that “home is at the core of the MTN Ambition 2030 strategy, believing, that the future would be largely determined by how much the home is harnessed”.

“The home requires a relevant infrastructure, hence, the home internet initiative by MTN Ghana.

Mr Acheampong disclosed that MTN Ghana was committing $1billion to Ghana’s digital future by investing in the digital infrastructure to boost internet services and ensure a reliable experience.

“If you want the best internet experience, your go to internet connectivity is fixed broadband”, The Chief Home Officer of MTN Ghana stated.

He cautioned that it was important to take good care of the devices in the home in order not to experience any interruption.

He further assured that the home internet connection could be done under 24hours and that  customers would get the relevant connectivity.

Mr Acheampong however called for the need for Ghana to build a strong digital infrastructure for the digital economy. “Digital economy means businesses would be able to compete globally, and also ensure that the smart home ecosystem in Ghana is enhanced”.
