The Parent Teacher Association(PTA) of the Aggrey Memorial Senior High School has exposed the Ghana Police Service on the arrest of students of the school, following the recent inter schools sports that resulted in a clash between some students of a number of senior high schools.
The association claimed that no student of the school was arrested.
At a press conference held at the school’s premises, the PTA Secretary of the Institution, Alhaji Adam Abdul-Basit, who addressed the media on behalf of the school, demanded an unqualified apology from the police department for allegedly faking the arrest of the Aggrey Memorial students.
He again challenged the Ghana Police Service to take steps to delete names of six students of Aggrey Memorial school from all the police records.
According to him, no student from Aggrey Memorial school was arrested by any police officer and claimed the press release by the Ghana Police Service claiming six students of Aggrey Memorial were arrested was false.

Alhaji Adam Abdul-Basit alleged that students of Adisadel College rather chased Aggrey Memorial students with cutlasses, baseball bats and other sharp objects.
“Upon our further and thorough engagement with the stakeholders in the school, it is clear that our students were rather the victims and not suspects”, Alhaji Abdul-Basit revealed.
He said, “following an investigation with the individuals involved in this matter, it was determined that the students from our institution were actually being pursued by students from Adisadel College. Due to numerical superiority and possessions of weapons by the Adisadel students, our students were advised by a Fire Service officer in a moving vehicle to seek refuge at the Central Regional Fire Station, where our senior house master and assistant assisted in coordinating further actions”.
He alleged that, “Aggey Memorial Students were confronted by students of Adisadel College, who challenged them to fight but students of Aggrey were over powered and fled for safety”.
Alhaji Abdul-Basit said the Senior House Master and Assistant later transported their students to Kotokruaba police station to assist with police investigations.
He said “Aggrey Memorial SHS upholds a commitment to discipline and ethical conduct among its students, adding that the school will cooperate with authorities to ascertain the truth but rejects unfounded accusation that tarnishes its reputation”.
