Mankessim Traditional Council officially confirms death of Queen Mother

The Mankessim Traditional Council has officially announced with profound sorrow the ancestral call of Her Majesty Nana Ama Amissah III, Paramount Queen Mother of the Mankessim Traditional Area.
Addressing the traditional authorities and people of Mankessim, the Omanhen of the area, His Eminence Osagyefo Amanfo Edu VI said barely two months ago, the Mankessim Traditional Council received a shocking death news of the late Queen Mother of Mankessim, Nana Ama Amissah.
He again mentioned that his Queen Mother died in the United States of America(USA) but with the help of President John Dramani Mahama her(late Nana Ama Amissah’s) body had arrived in Ghana, precisely Mankessim.

“I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my late Queen Mother of Mankessim, Nana Ama Amissah. My heartfelt condolences go to her family, the chiefs and people of Mankessim, and everyone affected by this painful loss. Nana Ama Amissah served her people with grace, wisdom, and dedication, and her absence will be greatly felt. May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may God grant us all strength and comfort in this difficult time”, His Eminence Amanfo Edu stated.
He said plans were underway for the Mankessim Traditional Council together with the Pakesedo Nsona Royal Family and elders to give Her Majesty Nana Ama Amissah a befitting burial service.
He added that Mankessim Traditional Council will form a committee including religious bodies, market women, Asafo members, husband, representative from the Paakesedo Nsona Family, and children among others ahead of the burial.
His Eminence Amanfo Edu said late Nana Ama Amissah, who was enstooled as Queen Mother of Mankessim from 1994 to 2026, a period of 32 years was a pillar of wisdom, dignity as well as compassion, whose dedicated service to humanity and traditional leadership had a profound impact on the lives and communities of many.
