Asebu Chief offers free land to 500 diasporans to feel at home

The Chief and the President of Asebu Traditional Council, Okatakyi Prof Amanfi VII has offered free land within his paramouncy to 500 disporans who responded to his call and desired to relocate to Ghana precisely the land of Asebu Traditional Council.

This ambitious project, according to the Chief, is the first of its kind in Africa with an aim to facilitate and make the settlement of the returnees easy.

Okatakyi Prof Amanfi believed the Asebu Pan African Village Project would transform the socio-economic fortunes of the Kingdom and create employment opportunities for the people particularly the youth.

This, project, according to him has been largely successful with as many as 500 diasporans offered land, and construction is springing up steadily.

“The project has attracted people with African descent from America, the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, Germany among other nations,” he stated.

This, move, he stated has made Asebu paramouncy the largest concentration of people of African decent in Ghana.

Okatakyi Prof Amanfi observed that through the Asebu Pan African Village Project, the Kingdom of Asebu has been put on the World map.

This came to the known during the silver jubilee celebration of Okatakyi Prof Amanfi VII, which coincided with the Apayemkese festival held at Asebu.

It was held with the theme “Celebrating 25 years of impactful leadership and over 1000 years of Asebuman Heritage; Honoring the Past, Empowering the Future”.

Prof Okatakyi Amanfi used the Silver Jubilee celebration to call on the government to upgrade and equip Moree health centre to the status of a Polyclinic since the level of the health facility is below standard.

According to him, “the only health centre in the Traditional Area at Moree lacks facilities to handle the health needs of the people”.

Prof Okatakyi Amanfi expressed worry about the past and current government’s inability to tackle poor road network in Asebu.

He announced that as part of the Amanfi VII Education fund instituted by him, he has been able to offer financial support of GH100,000 to about 200 needy students in the area to further their education.
