Kwanyako Chief appeals for Physics Lab

The Chief of Agona Kwanyako in the Agona East District of the Central Region, Nana Ampem Darkoh IV has appealed to the Government and other stakeholders in education to assist the community to build an ultra-modern Physics Laboratory for Kwanyako Senior High School.

Speaking on behalf of the Chief, the Omankrado of the area Nana Asare Panin ‘I’, disclosed that as part of effort to address the challenge confronting the school, the community through a self-help project has begun putting up a structure for the laboratory. This is to aid in effective teaching and learning.

He made this known during the official launching of the Kwanyako Home Coming Ceremony for 2022, with the theme “Resource the Youth in Education For Community and National Development”. The launch was intended to mobilize funds to complete the project.

According to him “in as much as strenuous effort is being put in place to build the lab and other learning facilities for the school, the government must equally lend a hand of support to bring the project to fruition”.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the occasion, Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu who doubles as the CEO of St. Andrews Group of Companies and an aspiring candidate for the Central Regional Chairmanship Position of the NDC, in an interview stated that physics plays a vital role in medical science as it improves human health and overall wellbeing.

“Therefore with an ultra-modern physics laboratory, Kwanyako SHS could produce a lot of doctors to reduce the patient-to-doctor ratio which currently impedes effective healthcare delivery in the country”.

He encouraged the youth in the area to take their education seriously to become responsible leaders in future.

On behalf of the Minister of Trade and Industry, John Alan Kyeremateng, the Executive Assistant to the Minister, Mr. Long Man commended the organizers of the program for the step taken to ensure the school has an ultra-modern Physics Laboratory and pledged his utmost support for the vision of the community.

He also pledged to complete the town’s market which has been abandoned since the year 2020.
