The Southwest Area Sales Manager for MTN Ghana, David Woase has pledged the company’s commitment to promoting the country’s cultural heritage.
He noted that MTN attached importance to culture and tradition, hence their willingness to support festivals across the country.
“MTN is an African multinational company so we believe in the African culture. Wherever there’s a festival, we try to partner to ensure that the cultural heritage is promoted“, the Southwest Area Sales Manager for MTN stated.
David Woase made the statement at the Elmina Palace, where he on behalf of MTN Ghana presented a drink hamper, E-cash of GHC20,000 and airtime among others to the Edina Traditional Council.
The company had earlier supported this year’s festival with a cash of GHC37,000 towards the preparation of the Bakatue.
“We are here to provide support to the people of Edina Traditional Council”, Mr Woase maintained.
He stated that MTN would setup sales stands, where exciting promotions would be carried out to create the opportunity for people to upload all the cultural practices to the internet to show the rich culture of the people of Edina.
The Chief of Simiw and Adontenhen of Edina Traditional Area, Nana Kwamina Nguando IV, who received the items on behalf of the Traditional Council, thanked MTN for the kind gesture.
He hoped the relationship between MTN and the Traditional Council would be strengthened for future collaborations.
