The Senior Manager for Enterprise, Marketing and Portfolio Management for MTN, Benedict Bentil has emphasized the company’s readiness to drive innovative technology across Africa and Ghana in particular.

He made the disclosure, when the telecommunications gaint, MTN partnered the Petroleum Commission for this year’s Local Content Conference and Exhibition currently underway in Takoradi.

The partnership, the first of its kind by MTN was to reaffirm the company’s commitment to transition from a telco to a techo or technology company.

“We believe the upstream sector has constantly been adopting innovative technologies and producing higher standards for their industry”, Mr Bentil stressed.

“So we are excited to be part of the local content conference for the first time and we are hopeful this partnership will continue “, he indicated.

Mr Bentil explained that the partnership was necessitated because the oil industry was investing in local content and helping indegenous Ghanaian businesses to grow, which MTN intended to support into the future.

“The fact that those in the oil and gas industry are investing in local content and helping to grow Ghanaian talent in the country is quite admirable.”

He continued “the company sees this as a partnership that could continue into the future”.

Meanwhile, MTN has affirmed its commitment to extend its network connectivity to the Jubilee Field.

According to the mobile telecommunications giant, the deployment would help enhance internet experience at the Jubilee Field.
