Telecommunication giant, MTN has presented a cash of GHC 10, 000, GHC 500 worth of airtime and drink hampers among other items towards this year’s Aboakyir festival, celebrated by the chiefs and people of Efutu Traditional Area.
Presenting the items, the MTN Senior Manager for South West District, Prince Owusu Nyarko stated that to provide distinct customer experience during the celebration, MTN will set up centers to provide customers with an enhanced services. “In view of the ongoing SIM registrations, we will also have a team that will register customers SIM with the Ghana Card”, he added.
Prince Owusu Nyarko further intimated that MTN Ghana is happy to join the festival again to lend their support to the people of Efutu.
Touching on this year’s theme for the Aboakyir celebration, ‘Together we build the road to a progressive society’, the senior manager for south west District for MTN maintained that no society can develop without unity. Hence, MTN’s unflinching support to Nananom and the people of Efutu Traditional Area.
The Paramount Chief of Efutu Traditional Area, Neenyi Ghartey VII, called on MTN to put measures in place towards owning one of the events, regarding the Aboakyir celebration since it is a popular festival in Ghana.
This year’s Aboakyir festival is the first to be celebrated by the chiefs and people of Efutu after the Covid-19 pandemic.
