Doctors to support clinical trials of COA drugs to ascertain potency

Medical Superintendents in Ghana have accepted to support clinical trials of drugs from the COA Research and manufacturing Company limited, producer of the COA FS, COA mixture and COA MT.
They acknowledged that “like the Traditional medicine, one orthodox medicine could also treat a number of ailments. Therefore, it could be possible that one traditional medicine would be able to treat a number of diseases”.
They applauded COA for prioritizing scientific research and indicated to collaborate with the company in its quest to produce quality drugs.
The Medical Superintendents Group visited the COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited at Wusorkrom in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region, to discuss pertaining questions regarding the COA medicine, such as the manufacturing process and packaging among others.
The President of the Medical Superintendents Group of Ghana, Dr Kamuldeen Korku Hussein, speaking to the media emphasized that “doctors believe in science and that COA’s medications are purely science based, hence, the support”.
“We can assist by organizing clinical trials in our hospitals. As doctors, we want to look at the performance of the drug to see whether the drug supports the claims of its potency”.
He maintained that herbal medicine could do a lot for the country Ghana and that there was the need for orthodox practitioners to support herbal medicine practitioners who are into scientific research through data gathering to ascertain the efficacy of such drugs.
According to the President of the Medical Superintendents, the assistance from the medical doctors would encourage more scientific research into herbal medicine and put Ghana on the world map.
The Chief Executive Officer of COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited, Professor Samuel Ato Duncan indicated that “Drug development goes through processes and doctors are the only people who can tell us the potency of the drug”.
He stated that the company had not finished researching into the COA products, hence, the need for empirical evidence and data to support the research.
“These people are medical superintendents from the various Hospitals where patients go for treatment so they can prescribe the products for us to know its performance in the best possible way”.
“Doctors can tell us the number of clients they put on the drug and whether it worked as expected, regarding the immunity”.
Professor Ato Duncan continued that the products were registered as immune booster and for general Wellbeing and that the hospitals would be able to indicate its potency as far as research work was concerned.
“We are thinking of leaving a legacy for mother Ghana and Africa in General. The COA medicine is composed of a hundred and eighty organic compounds, hence, its efficacy”.
Professor Ato Duncan called on the Medical community to support the research work and assured Ghanaians of quality products from COA Research and Manufacturing Company.
He disclosed that COA capsules would soon be introduced to complement the COA drugs.
The Chief Executive Officer of COA further revealed that “the drug has some anti-viral properties that has the potential to treat immune deficiencies”.
He hoped COA would receive the needed International recognition it deserved.
