Tragic Helicopter Crash: Private Universities commiserate with Government, Families

The Private Universities Founders Association (PUFA), Ghana, in a press release issued on Friday (8th August, 2025) has expressed their deepest sympathies to the families of the victims of the helicopter accident last Wednesday (August 6, 2025) in Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The association further commiserated with the Government of the Republic of Ghana and the Ghana Armed Forces for their loss.
Wednesday’s helicopter crash resulted in the deaths of eight notable Ghanaians, including two serving ministers, other government officials, and military personnel.
“Our deepest sympathies are with the Government of the Republic of Ghana, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the families and friends of Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Honourable Minister for Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator and Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC and Former Mayor of Kumasi. Also, families of Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Former NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah”, the state underscored.
According to PUFA, “this loss is not only for the affected families but also a national tragedy that has robbed our country of dedicated public servants who have devoted their lives to its progress”.
The Statement indicated that their contributions to national development would be remembered with respect and gratitude.
“PUFA stands in solidarity with the Government and people of Ghana during this time of mourning. We pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and for strength, comfort, and healing for their families and all, who are affected by this devastating incident”.
”May this tragedy reminds us of the fragility of life and the essence of love and compassion”, the statement concluded.
