The police have arrested sixteen persons in connection with a shooting incident at Asaman Tamfoe in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Some persons believed to be illegal miners clashed with the community anti-galamsey taskforce on 29 September, 2022 over illegal mining issues and thus resulted in the shootout.
The police in a press release stated that one pump action gun, two excavators, two water pumps and a battery were retrieved from the suspects.
“Efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects in connection with the incident”, the police stated.
