Assin South: Pupils Cross Rivers to School, NADMO Warns of Disaster as the Rain sets in

The Assin South District Cordinator for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr. Emmanuel Kwabena Brewu has cautioned heads of schools in the area to endeavor to close the pupils from school early to prevent any unfortunate disaster as the rain sets in.

“A number of students walk several kilometers, whiles others cross rivers to school, therefore it will be prudent for schools to close early to ensure the students get to their destination safely”, the NADMO cordinator disclosed.

Speaking to Gnewsprime.com, Mr Brewu indicated that Assin South lies within a forest zone that accelerates heavy rainfalls, accompanied by storms.
“So parents and guardians whose wards cross rivers to school should also monitor the children when crossing such rivers, especially during this rainy season to ensure safety”.
