Lead convenor for ‘Democracy Hub’ protest Oliver Barker-Vormawor denied bail

The lead convenor of the Democracy hub protest, Oliver Barker-vormawor has been denied bail by the Accra High court.

The Presiding Judge said he was not convinced that the accused would not commit another offense, if granted bail.

Barker-vormawor is one of the about fifty-three people charged with multiple counts of conspiracy, unlawful assembly, causing unlawful damage, offensive conduct, assault on public officer and defacement of public property.

His lawyers, led by Justice Srem-Sai filed an application for bail on Monday 7th October, 2024 but it was denied by the High court.

Oliver Barker-vormawor also faces  stealing charges at the Accra Circuit court.
