Assin Fosu: Police Engage Media on Security Measures for December Elections

The Ghana Police Service has engaged news editors, media managers, and Information Center Operators at the Central North Regional Police Headquarters in Assin Fosu to strategize towards the impending December elections.
Also, it was aimed to foster a stronger partnership between the Police and the media in a bid to promote a peaceful, safe, and law-abiding society.
DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe, Central North Regional Police Commander, emphasized the media’s crucial role in upholding accuracy and professionalism before, during and after the elections.
He urged the media to avoid spreading misinformation, disinformation, and sensationalism, which could undermine national security.
The Police Commander called for collaboration between the Police and the media to maintain law and order ahead of the 2024 general elections.
As part of the media security arrangements, the Police introduced liaison officers for all media houses within the region.
This move aims to address security concerns and enhance Journalists safety during the election coverage.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including ACP Lawyer Edith V. Gaanu, ACP Abraham Quaye, Superintendent Daniel Kwabena Darkoh, ASP Jacob Kumedzro, ASP Isaac Amekudzi, and ASP Samuel Fofie, among others.
Media personnel present included William Mintah Hayford, Rich FM Manager; Alfred Amoh, Radio Fosu Manager; Shadrack Owusu Asante, Rich FM News Editor; Isaac Nana Yaw Entsie; Bohyeba FM Manger; Nana Amoah; Nkwa FM and Kofi Tutu of Kofi Tutu media, among others.
