The Assin Fosu District Court presided by His Worship Abdul Majid Illiasu has granted bail to an accused, Sam Tierna, a. K. a. Kwasi Sika, whose girlfriend, Jordan Aboagyewaa was found dead in his room at Rail Station in Assin Fosu.
The accused, 42, who pleaded guilty to the offense of hindrance of inquest was granted GHC 10,000 bail with two sureties and the case was however adjourned to 10th November, 2022.
This follows a plead by the prosecution, Chief Inspector Gilbert Ayongo to the court to give the police ample time to complete the investigation.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased pleaded the case be settled out of court on the premise that they were facing financial challenges and that they could not afford the cost of necropsy.
The court however threw out the ‘out-of-court settlement application’ filed by the family.
The accused who hails from Hamile near Jirapa in the Lambussie Karni District of the Upper West Region had earlier told the court he was known in Assin Fosu as Kwabena Sika but confessed Sam Tierna is his real name.
