Cat accidentally shipped to Amazon

A pet kitty survived almost a week without food or water after being accidentally shipped off in an Amazon return box by its owners.

The feline, named Galena, was found inside the box by a startled employee at an Amazon warehouse in California on April 17, six days after disappearing from her home in Utah.

“I didn’t believe it at first and thought it was a prank,” kitty owner Carrie Clark told local news outlet KSL-TV of the moment she learned her beloved pet was alive.

Clark first noticed Galena had gone missing on April 10, prompting a frantic search of the neighborhood for any sign of the missing animal.

“Galena is a huge emotional support to me and has helped me get through many health challenges over the past six years,” Clark explained. “The anxiety and stress of not knowing what happened to her was excruciating.”

For nearly a week, Clark and her family scoured around, putting posters up in the area pleading for any information about the cat’s whereabouts.

Then, on April 17, Clark was stunned when she received a call from a vet in California saying that Galena was brought into the clinic, where her microchip was scanned.

The vet explained that the cat had been brought in by an Amazon worker named Brandy, who found the feline in a return box with Clark’s home address on it.

“I ran to tell my husband that Galena was found, and we broke down upon realizing that she must have jumped into an oversized box that we shipped out the previous Wednesday,” Clark stated.

“The box was a ‘try before you buy’ and filled with steel-toed work boots,” she explained.

“After talking to the vet, I got to talk to Brandy on the phone,” Clark further explained. “She was so relieved to find out that we love Galena and were desperately looking for her.”

Clark and her husband flew to California to collect their kitty the following day, delighted to meet Brandy and thank her for finding and caring for their cat.

“It was an amazing reunion! Galena instantly stopped shaking and relaxed in my arms when I got to hold her again,” Clark said. “Despite being skinnier and some mild dehydration, her bloodwork was completely normal and she was completely unharmed!

“The box Galena was in was split open on one seam and that gave her air to breathe,” the owner explained, revealing how the feline managed to stay alive for six days.

“Galena survived because of her microchip, Brandy’s kindness and generosity, and God’s grace!” she cooed.
