Western North: Police Officer allegedly shot dead by ‘drunk’ colleague

The head of Intelligence Unit at the Western North Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service,  ASP Frank Nsiah has allegedly shot dead his colleague, Constable David Gbati.

The incident occurred on Friday night, May 5, 2023.

Angelonline.com.gh gathered that the incident followed an argument between the deceased officer and his senior colleague while both were on an assignment in the Bibiani-Ahnwiaso-Bekwai Municipality.

ASP Nsiah, who was said to have been drunk at the time, picked up his riffle during a heated argument and shot dead Constable Gbati who was in the service vehicle with him.

It is unclear what the argument was about.

Angel FM’s correspondant in the area, Nana Agyemang reports, Constable Gbati’s body has been deposited at the Sefwi Wiawso mortuary, while ASP Frank Nsiah, has been detained at the Bekwai Police Station pending further investigations.
