I’m ready to represent Central Region as Council of State Member-Hakeem

After polling eighteen (18) votes out of the forty-four (44) votes cast to emerge winner at the just conducted Council of State member election in Cape Coast, Hakeem Addae says he is ready to represent the Central Region to contribute his quota to the region’s development.

Ten people contested for the position of council of state members in the Central Region.

They are; Francis Ejaku Donkoh, Nana Obokomatia, Nana Okutsekupong, Habib Mohamed, Seth Festus Appiah, Osagyefo Amanfo Edu, Hannah Cudjoe, Hakeem Addae, Alexander Ghartey and Ogyeedon Nana Obrenu.

They had 11, 10, 0, 0, 0, 0, 2,18, 0, and 3 votes respectively.

Because the election needs a simple majority to win, Hakeem Addae was declared the winner and the council of state member for Central Region.

Speaking to the media shortly after the elections, Hakeem Addae was optimistic that his relationship with President Mahama and his position as a council member would ensure growth in the region.

”The region should look forward to my contribution towards it’s development”, he maintained.

Hakeem Addae urged the President of Ghana to consider channeling more appointments to the region to help remedy some of the challenges facing the region specifically youth unemployment.
