Twenty babies born on Christmas at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH) have benefited from the MTN 2024 baby hamper gifting in Cape Coast.
Items contained in the hampers included newborn clothing, detergents, toys, bankets and personal care items.
The baby hamper distribution project is a flagship initiative that embodies the spirit of giving and caring that defines MTN.
Launched in 2011, the project offers MTN staff a unique opportunity to volunteer their time to make a tangible difference in the lives of families with newborns during the Christmas season.
So far, MTN Ghana has distributed over 3,500 hampers across the country.
This year, 30 health facilities in all sixteen regions benefited from the programme.
According to the Southern Ghana Human Resource Manager for MTN, Regina Arkaifie, “this project showcases the human face of the MTN brand, demonstrating our commitment to caring for the well-being of Ghanaians by providing essential items to families with newborns, we aim to alleviate some of the pressures associated with caring for a new life”.
“The Baby Hamper Distribution project is a shining example of MTN’s dedication to giving back to the community. We are proud to reiterate the caring side of our brand during this yuletide season”.
The Deputy Chief Nursing Officer at the CCTH, Veronica Koomson thanked MTN Ghana for the kind gesture.
She commended the company for impacting lives through diverse means.
A number of the mothers, whose faces were filled with joy told gnewsprime.com that the hampers came at an opportune moment.
They thus thanked MTN for being thoughtful of Christmas babies.
Six hundred hampers were distributed across the country this year, with Central Region getting sixty of those.
