Mankessim murder was for money Rituals – Suspects confess

The two suspects involved in the alleged murder of Georgina Asor Botchwey in Mankessim in the Mfantsiman Municipality of the Central Region have confessed to the police, they killed the lady for money rituals.

The suspects, Michael Darko, alias Nana 1, a self styled Pastor and Christopher Ekow Clarke, Tufohen of Ekumfi Akwakrom who were arrested in their various hideouts, were arraigned before the District court II in Cape Coast on Thursday 22nd September, 2022.

They were remanded into police custody to reappear on 4th October, 2022, according to the police.

The lady believed to be around 25years of age was an applicant to a nursing training college in Cape Coast and was allegedly killed and buried in the room of the suspected Chief.

The Chief allegedly connived with the self styled pastor to kill the lady and buried her in the chiefs house in Mankessim in the Central Region of Ghana.

On Tuesday, September 20, the pastor led investigators to the room of the Tufohene of Akwakrom, Nana Clarke, and the body of Georgina Asor Botchwey was exhumed.

The body of the victim has since been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased have however expressed shock about the incident and have called on the police to bring the perpetrators to book.
