MTN acknowledges Nananom’s Support over the Years, as Company Donates towards Fetu Afahye

MTN Ghana has acknowledged the contribution of chiefs towards the success of the company, saying, their support over these three decades has powered MTN’s growth.

As the Chiefs and people of the Oguaa Traditional Area celebrates this year’s Oguaa Fetu Afahye, MTN Ghana has stated that this festival remains one of the most significant expressions of our cultural heritage, and thus congratulated all in the Traditional Area on this year’s Afahye.

MTN Ghana has therefore presented a cheque  for GHC30,000, drink hamper and airtime worth GHC2000 to the Oguaa Traditional Council to support the ongoing festivities.

Presenting the items, the Central and Western Regional Area Manager, David Woasey stated that “this year holds special meaning for MTN Ghana. In 2026, we mark thirty years of operations in Ghana. Under the anniversary theme “30 Years of Progress, Powered by You,” we pause to reflect on the journey that began in 1996 and has been sustained by the trust, loyalty, and support of Ghanaians across the country, including the chiefs and people of Oguaa, and indeed to all our customers and partners, we say a heartfelt thank you”.

“Nana and people of Oguaa, we congratulate you most sincerely on this year’s Fetu Afahye. — a time of cleansing, thanksgiving, remembrance of the seventy-seven gods of the land, and renewal of the bonds that hold the Oguaa Traditional Area together”.

He prayed the celebrations would be peaceful, successful, and full of blessings for the Omanhen, the Traditional Council, the Asafo Companies, and all the people of Oguaa.

“You have been the reason we continue to invest, innovate, and serve. Today, we acknowledge that debt of gratitude with humility and pride”, David Woasey said.

“Osaberima, as we celebrate thirty years of progress, we also look firmly ahead. MTN’s strategic direction is now guided by Ambition 2030. This agenda is built on three core platforms; Connectivity, Fintech, and Digital Infrastructure”.

Mr Woasey Further explained that “through Ambition 2030, we are committed to expanding access to reliable networks, deepening financial inclusion, and building the digital foundations that will support Ghana’s development for the next generation. In many ways, the spirit of the Oguaa Fetu Afahye and the goals of Ambition 2030 speak to the same truth”.

He recognised that strong cultural institutions and vibrant festivals like the Fetu Afahye were essential to social cohesion and national identity. “We will continue to support such efforts as we pursue our Ambition 2030 goals”, the Area Sales Manager stressed.

Receiving the items, the Stool and Afahye Secretary of Oguaa Traditional Area, Elicot Nana Kweku Okyere thanked MTN Ghana for the kind gesture.
