MTN Ghana Boosts Network in Twifo Atti-Morkwa with New Cell Sites, Earns DCE’s Praise

The District Chief Executive for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Isaac Yawson, has hailed MTN Ghana for the establishment of eight new cell sites in the area to boost the network system.
He indicated that there had been a significant improvement in the network coverage in the area.
Mr Yawson made the statement in Twifo Praso in the Central Region of Ghana, when a team from MTN Ghana engaged the community on the activities of the company and how best to improve quality services in the area.
Issues discussed included Mobile Money operations, network improvement strategies, cybersecurity awareness and its sustainability pillars.
Touching on network challenges, MTN Ghana stated emphatically that a number of illegal mining activities across the country contributed to its fibre cuts, which subsequently affected the network of many users.
“The company’s fibre optic cables are laid beneath the ground and any activity on the ground that disrupt the cables contribute to a change in the network system”, MTN Ghana’s Network Operations Manager for South West, Maxwell Acquah, pointed out.
He explained that construction activities at places where the company’s cables were laid, directly or indirectly altered the fibre optic cables and further impacted the network system.
Mr Acquah however called on Ghanaians to report any fibre cut issues to the nearest MTN office for a quick resolution.
The Corporate Services Advisor for South-west, Kennedy Ofosuhene stressed on the importance of feedback to MTN Ghana and assured the people of quality services.
He mentioned a number of interventions being made by MTN Ghana, such as the construction of Children’s ward for the Twifo Praso Polyclinic amongst similar interventions in many hospitals across the country.
Mr Ofosuhene hoped the continuous engagement would enhance the relationship of the company and customers.
The MTN team also visited Twifo Praso Senior High School, where they engaged approximately 300 students on the MTN BRIGHT Scholarship sheme, cybersecurity, and related processes.
